Benghazi – The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, received today the Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, Professor Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, and the President of the University of Benghazi, Professor Dr. Ezzedine Al-Dursi, along with their accompanying delegation.
The meeting focused on discussing the pivotal role that Arab universities play in the development of their societies. In this context, Field Marshal Haftar emphasized the necessity of providing full support to scientific research programs, considering them the primary tool for confronting the challenges facing Arab nations.
During the meeting, the Commander-in-Chief called for a major scientific conference to be hosted by the University of Benghazi next year, 2026. The conference will be held under the patronage of the Association of Arab Universities and will feature wide participation from researchers and academics from various Arab universities. The parties agreed to begin making the necessary arrangements to ensure the success of this important scientific event.
For his part, Professor Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama praised the remarkable development witnessed by the University of Benghazi, commending the continuous support provided by the Commander-in-Chief to university institutions and his keenness to enhance their pioneering role in serving the community and leading progress.
