Evian – Leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) pledged to intensify humanitarian efforts and accelerate reconstruction in the Gaza Strip. They also called for swift implementation of related political and security measures and urged an end to violence in the West Bank.
In their final statement after the summit in Evian, the leaders expressed support for efforts to achieve an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Lebanon. They stressed the importance of strengthening Lebanese state authority and ensuring all weapons remain under state control to preserve the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
On regional issues, the leaders welcomed the announcement of an agreement between the United States and Iran. They described it as an opportunity to promote regional stability and reduce the risks of nuclear proliferation, affirming their support for its implementation and success.
The statement also highlighted the importance of ensuring freedom of international navigation. The G7 leaders voiced support for initiatives aimed at protecting commercial maritime transport and enhancing global energy security.
Regarding the war in Ukraine, the leaders reiterated their steadfast support for Kyiv in defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
They also emphasized the importance of keeping the Indian and Pacific Oceans free, open, and governed by international law. The leaders called for ongoing international cooperation to address global economic challenges and promote economic stability.
