The Tripoli-based Government of National Unity (GNU) announced Wednesday that the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Adel Jumaa, was subjected to an assassination attempt, after shooting at his car on the highway in the Capital.
GNU confirmed, in an official statement, that the health condition of the minister is stable, noting that the competent security services immediately began their intensive investigations to uncover the circumstances of the incident and track down the perpetrators, to ensure that they are brought to justice.
The government stressed that it will not tolerate any attempts targeting state security or threatening the stability of the country, affirming the continuation of its efforts to enhance security and impose the rule of law.
