Member of the Tripoli-based High Council of State (HCS), Saad bin Shrada, confirmed that “handing over the Libyan national Abu Agila al-Mariami to U.S. may be a prelude to handing over others.”
Bin Shrada said in a press statement that “Washington will not hesitate to pursue any name mentioned in the investigations that are expected to expand.”
“The matter may be exploited for political purposes, and some people will be excluded from running for the presidential elections, just because their names are mentioned by Abu Agila in the investigations,” he added.
“Prime Minister Dbeibeh acquiesced to the centers of power in the world, and did not deal with wisdom and politics, in a manner that does not contradict the interest of the country,” Bin Shrada added.
“Dbeibeh’s speech was not commensurate with his position as prime minister, and the process of handing over al-Mariami should not be underestimated,” he explained.
