“There are many obstacles in the State Council in Tripoli regarding the formation of the 6+6 committee, which will work on drafting an election law with a committee from the House of Representatives, confirmed a member of the House of Representatives, Jibril Ouhaida. He said he “does not expect that there will be progress in this track until the end of April.”
“If the 6 + 6 committee does not succeed, the House of Representatives will not stand idly by and will go to another path, including resorting to the 2021 election law,” MP Ouhaida added in a press statement.
“The international community has not yet agreed on a solution to the Libyan crisis, because holding elections requires an international and local will, and this will is not yet available,” he concluded.
