A total of 8,825 migrants in Libya (703 females and 8,122 males) have received either Sinopharm, AstraZeneca or Pfizer vaccines against COVID-19 by 19 February 2022, according to the International Organization for Migration.
Out of the total number, 2,386 migrants (28%) have received two doses (including the migrants who received the first dose before 3 October 2021), IOM said in a statement on Wednesday.
Vaccines were provided and administered by the Libyan National Center for Desease Control (NCDC), the Organization pointed out.
By 19 February 2022, the migrants vaccinated were from 38 different countries of origin, including Eritrea (19%), Egypt (18%) and Niger (13%), it added.
