Ibrahim Al-Aidoudi, Director of Secondary Education for the Jadu Education Monitoring Directorate, commented on the decision. He also discussed the health measures being taken in schools.
Al-Aidoudi stated the Ministry of Education granted municipal authorities discretionary power. They can decide whether to suspend or continue classes to protect student health.
He noted that Jadu General Hospital had appealed to education officials. The appeal came after observing an influx of patients and the spread of a seasonal virus. He pointed out that most of these cases were students.
The Education Monitoring Directorate launched a field tour of educational institutions. Specialists from the Social Service and School Health offices participated. The tour included a visit to the pediatric department at Jadu General Hospital to review records and case numbers.
A designated committee met at the Jadu health center. They assessed the epidemiological situation in the hospital and schools. This followed appeals from school principals about the outbreak among students and teachers. He confirmed a large number of cases were not officially registered at the hospital.
Based on the committee’s findings, a report was sent to the Jadu Education Controller. He then issued the order to suspend classes for five days. All necessary precautions will be taken before studies resume. A specialized committee will continuously monitor the situation.
He affirmed that classes might resume before the scheduled date if health indicators return to normal.
