Tripoli – The Telecommunications Holding Company signed a memorandum of understanding on Thursday. The agreement is with the Saudi company, Technology Link Services (TLS). It aims to enhance regional partnerships in communications and information technology.
The memorandum was signed by Yousef Ibrahim Hussein, Chairman of the Holding Company. Ali bin Masfer Al-Qahtani, head of the TLS delegation, also signed the agreement.
The Holding Company stated the memorandum includes a framework for cooperation on several tracks. These include preparing technical studies to develop national and urban communication networks. It also involves assessing market needs for transmission capacity.
Additionally, a strategy will be developed for regional connectivity with neighboring African countries. This will enhance Libya’s role as a communications gateway for the continent.
The Holding Company explained the agreement reflects a mutual goal to establish a strategic partnership. This partnership will strengthen Libya’s digital infrastructure and expand regional cooperation. It supports economic development and aligns with the national digital vision.
Chairman Yousef Ibrahim Hussein said the telecommunications sector is in a phase requiring greater coordination. It also needs an extensive exchange of expertise. He stated it is vital to launch development projects to improve infrastructure readiness. This will help keep pace with rapid global digital transformations.
Technology Link Services is a licensed communications and IT company in Saudi Arabia. The company builds telecommunications facilities. Its services focus on providing fiber optic services to telecom operators.
