Kufra – The National Development Agency announced the start of potato harvesting and production. This took place today, Sunday, at the Kufra Agricultural Production Project. This initiative falls under plans to boost food security. It aims to translate development and reconstruction projects into actual domestic production.
Mohammed Boshleif is the Director of the Media Office for the Kufra Agricultural Project. He explained that cultivated areas saw a significant production boom. This was due to development operations and focus on agricultural projects in the southern regions. He noted that this production will help meet local market needs. It will also support price stability.
Boshleif affirmed that beginning the harvest represents the fruit of continuous efforts. These efforts aim to transform the Kufra region into a vital agricultural development hub. This is achieved by overcoming natural and desert challenges. These challenges are being converted into productive opportunities.
He added that the latest irrigation and fertilization techniques were adopted. This ensures production quality and compliance with specifications. He highlighted the synergy of national efforts and technical expertise. This collaboration has been crucial to the success of the agricultural season.
