Sirte – Ibn Sina Teaching Hospital in Sirte discussed the development of the National Kidney Transplant Project. This discussion occurred during an expanded meeting. The meeting was dedicated to following up on the outcomes of the sixth phase of the project. It also reviewed mechanisms for its development in future stages.
Hospital Director General Dr. Ali Al-Jaroushi chaired the meeting. Several department managers and heads of sections attended. Visiting Professor Issa Qualit was also present. He is a consultant in kidney diseases and transplantation. Professor Qualit also chairs the Arab Kidney Group in Jordan.
The meeting reviewed achievements in kidney transplant operations. These achievements were made during previous phases. Over 25 patients have benefited since the project began. The project started in September of last year.
Ways to enhance the efficiency of medical and auxiliary medical staff were discussed. Strengthening their readiness was also a focus. This ensures improved quality of services for kidney transplant patients. These services will meet the highest medical standards.
Participants emphasized the importance of continuing training and rehabilitation programs. They also stressed expanding scientific partnerships with relevant bodies. This contributes to the sustainability of the national project. It also helps develop its services. Ultimately, it alleviates the suffering of patients and their families.
