ANTALYA, Turkey – Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, called for the involvement of all concerned parties in the process of settling the Libyan crisis, including the General Command of the Libyan National Army (LNA), and representatives of the former regime of Muammar Gaddafi in the country.
Lavrov said, during a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu, after talks between them Wednesday in Antalya: “We affirmed our support for the efforts being taken in the interest of reaching, as soon as possible, a peaceful solution to the Libyan crisis under the auspices of the United Nations, and we expressed readiness to help the new authority organs, that were formed in March of this year, to hold the referendum on the constitution and organize the general elections scheduled for December 24.”
