Libya has called for a unified Arab economic and social system to address food insecurity in the region.
This took place during the fifth conference of Arab Parliament in Cairo yesterday. During the event, Libyan MP Hassan Barghouti delivered a speech on behalf of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh.
In the speech, Saleh stated that the increasing food gap between Arab countries requires a set of “effective policies to build a social economic system that addresses the shortcomings of developing agricultural production”.
