Libya, Greece discuss launching direct flights

Libya and Greece on Saturday discussed launching direct flights between them and other means to boost bilateral ties.

Yousef al-Agouri, head of the Foreign Committee of Libya’s House of Representatives, and Greek Ambassador to Libya Ioannis Stamatekos held a virtual meeting to discuss “means to enhance relations, facilitate travel of nationals, and launch of direct flights between the two countries,” the House of Representatives said in a statement.

The two officials also discussed the 2019 Libyan-Turkish memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the establishment of maritime boundaries.

“In this regard, al-Agouri confirmed that the House of Representatives, in addition to its keenness to preserve the country’s national interests, keeps in consideration the stability in the eastern Mediterranean area and to reach fair and comprehensive agreement about sharing the resources in the area,” the statement added.
