Libya records 916 new cases, 12 deaths of COVID-19

The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) reported on Sunday that 916 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 14 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 12 others died of the virus, while 690 have recovered during the same reporting period.

128 people are in “critical” condition, said the NCDC.

The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 389,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 376,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.

The virus has claimed the lives of 5,722 people in total. Over a million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 851,000 were fully vaccinated with two doses.
