Libya plans to plant 40 million trees to produce biofuels

The Libyan company Goshtaf is proposing a plan to plant 40 million Jatropha trees to produce and localize the biofuel industry.

During a meeting with Acting Foreign Minister Taher Al-Baur in Tripoli yesterday, Goshtaf CEO Saleh Abuwesir presented the proposal, in which the environmental, economic and international dimensions of the project and its objectives were outline, as per statement from the state-owned media platform Hakomitna.

Al-Baur reportedly expressed interest in the importance of “this vital strategic project” as a step forward towards the “clean biofuel” sector.
