The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) reported on Sunday that 2,281 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 24 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 14 others died of the virus, while 567 have recovered during the same reporting period.
142 people are in “critical” condition, said the NCDC.
The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 405,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 388,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.
The virus has claimed the lives of 5,921 people in total. Over a million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 961,000 were fully vaccinated with two doses. 10,552 people received booster doses.
