The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) reported on Tuesday that 2,490 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 28 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 8 others died of the virus, while 4,053 have recovered during the same reporting period.
132 people are in “critical” condition, said the NCDC.
The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 475,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 426,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.
The virus has claimed the lives of 6,143 people in total. Over two million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while over one million were fully vaccinated with two doses. Over 49,000 people received booster doses.
