Libya records 589 new cases, 22 deaths of COVID-19

The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) has reported on Monday that 589 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 16 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 22 others died of the virus, while 1,323 have recovered during the same reporting period.

192 people are in “critical” condition, said the NCDC.

The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 354,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 289,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.

The virus has claimed the lives of 5,028 people in total. Over a million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 370,000 were fully vaccinated with two doses.
