UNHCR, UN Refuge Agency, said the Tripoli-based Coast Guard intercepted 370 migrants in the Mediterranean and returned them to Libya in the last two days.
“Last night, 116 persons aboard a rubber boat were returned to Tripoli by Libyan Coast Guard. Among them were 20 women and 7 children. They embarked from Zwara one day earlier despite bad sea condition,” UNHCR tweeted on Sunday.
“Another boat was returned this morning to Tripoli. 56 persons were on board of a wooden boat departing from Zwara,” the UN Agency said in another tweet on Sunday.
“198 persons aboard two boats were brought back to Libya tonight disembarking in Zawiya and in Tripoli,” UNHCR had tweeted on Saturday.
