The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) reported on Thursday that 618 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 14 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 9 others died of the virus, while 608 have recovered during the same reporting period.
132 people are in “critical” condition, said the NCDC.
The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 395,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 383,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.
The virus has claimed the lives of 5,822 people in total. Over a million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 926,000 were fully vaccinated with two doses. 2,225 people received booster doses.
