The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) reported on Sunday that 709 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 14 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 13 others died of the virus, while 2,705 have recovered during the same reporting period.
120 people are in “critical” condition, said the NCDC.
The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 374,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 355,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.
The virus has claimed the lives of 5,493 people in total. Over a million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 700,000 were fully vaccinated with two doses.
