Libya records 857 new cases, 7 deaths of COVID-19

The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) reported on Wednesday that 857 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 25 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 7 others died of the virus, while 2,565 have recovered during the same reporting period.

123 people are in “critical” condition, said the NCDC.

The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 495,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 468,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.

The virus has claimed the lives of 6,276 people in total. Over two million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while over one million were fully vaccinated with two doses. Over 75,000 people received booster doses.
