Khaled Shakshak, chief of the Libyan Audit Bureau, met on Monday with officials of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) and the Ministry of Finance to discuss mechanism for disbursing the state-funded family grants, according to a statement by the Bureau.
Shakshak urged the officials to expedite the implementation process by disbursing the amount in two tranches. He stressed that the period of disbursing the second tranche “should not exceed the middle of the month of Ramadan,” the Bureau said.
The meeting comes a day after outgoing premier Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh announced that his government will provide 9-month payment of the grant at once before the holy month of Ramadan.
