Libya’s Attorney-General, Alsiddiq Al-Sour, confirmed the seizure of an oil tanker found smuggling fuel off Abu Kamash, in the western part of the country, in the Zawiya area, where the country’s most important refinery was damaged yesterday from the clashes that broke out between rival militias.
Speaking to the Libyan media, the Attorney-General said the oil tanker was towed to the port of Shaab in Tripoli. He explained that preliminary investigations showed that the tanker was attempting to smuggle fuel from the Zawiya terminal to an unknown destination, stating that the seizure took place in coordination with the Libyan coastguard.
