Libya’s Coast Guard intercepted a vessel carrying around 200 illegal migrants trying to cross to Europe on Sunday, the navy has confirmed.
“The vessel ‘Zuwara’ sailed to the spot north of Khums with the necessary equipment for the rescue operation,” the media office of the navy said.
The migrants, mainly Bangladeshi, were disembarked at the Khums Naval Base and handed over to the competent authorities.
