Kuala Lumpur – Libyan contestant Najwa Ali Zaidan Al-Korbo clinched third place in the women’s Quran memorization category at the 2025 Malaysia International Quran Recitation Competition, achieving an impressive score of 95.51%.
The Libyan Embassy in Kuala Lumpur announced via its official page that the competition, held from August 2 to 9, 2025, saw participation from 71 competitors representing 49 countries, including Libya, alongside judges from 12 nations.
The embassy highlighted that the closing ceremony featured an awards presentation for the top three winners in each category, presided over by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. The event was attended by the Speaker of the Malaysian Parliament, the Minister of Religious Affairs, the Director of the Malaysian Islamic Affairs Department, the Imam of the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, as well as heads and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Malaysia.
The Bani Walid Municipal Council extended its congratulations to Najwa Ali Zaidan Al-Korbo for her remarkable achievement in securing third place globally in the prestigious competition for complete Quran memorization, commending her distinguished performance.
