Libya’s Foreign Minister Najla Mangoush held talks in Tripoli today with the Chargé d’Affairs of the U.S. Embassy in Libya, Leslie Ordeman, focusing on the long-delayed presidential and parliamentary elections in the country.
“Minister Mangoush and I discussed the importance of focusing all efforts on moving towards timely elections that will enjoy support throughout Libya and fully restore the country’s sovereignty,” the American Embassy quoted Ordeman as saying.
Meanwhile, the Tripoli-based Foreign Ministry stated that the two diplomats also discussed “the necessary arrangements and procedures” for the American Embassy resume operation from Tripoli, which would help “facilitating visas for Libyans in general and students in particular”.
