Libyan interlocutors have concluded a three-day consultive meeting in Geneva, facilitated by the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue. The interlocutors affirmed that the December elections must be held on time, but called for forming “consensual” election laws.
They pointed out that the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections are the only way through which the conflict over the legitimacy of state insinuations can be resolved. However, they stressed upon the necessity to “deal with concerns” regarding the elections.
The interlocutors vouched to “intensify efforts to build consensus” between the House of Representatives and the High Council of States to complete necessary electoral legislations.
