The Libyan Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation, Ali al-Abid al-Ridha, arrived in Palestine yesterday during which he met Palestinian officials.
Al-Ridha is considered the first-ever Libyan cabinet minister to visit Palestine, according to Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh who stressed that “visiting Palestine does not mean normalization with the Israeli occupation.”
Shtayyeh stressed during the meeting the importance of this first official visit by a Libyan minister to Palestine, which he said contributes to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and gives importance to the Arab depth in the support of Palestine at all levels.
He also stressed the importance of following up on the implementation of the agreements signed during his official visit last year to Libya in several areas dealing with political, diplomatic and economic issues and creating job opportunities for Palestinian professionals in Libya, including doctors, engineers, nurses, teachers and others.
