Libya’s House of Representatives announced on Monday that only two candidates out of seven were found eligible as potential replacement for current Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh.
Fathi Bashagha and Khaled Al-Bibas were shortlisted to compete for the parliament’s vote on Thursday.
Once selected by the parliament, one of the two will be tasked with forming a new interim government to replace that of Dbeibeh whose legal mandate expired on December 24 last year.
