Libyan parliament kicks off new round of talks on budget bill

Libya’s House of Representatives kicked off on Tuesday another session to discuss the budget bill and the presidential election bill, after yesterday’s session was suspended.

House Speaker Aguila Saleh told the press yesterday that he anticipates that the parliament would reach a comprise with the government on to reduce its proposed LYD 111 billion budget ($22 billion) to LYD 80 billion ($17 billion).

Saleh also said that the parliament will pass the bill on presidential election “within a week or two.”
