The Speaker of Libya’s House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, will take a trip to Russia “within days” to hold talks with Moscow officials about “common interests between the two countries”.

This was reported by the Egyptian news website Cairo 24, which cited Saleh’s media advisor Fathi Al-Marimi as the source. He did not disclose any further details about the trip.

The Russia visit is the latest in a series of overseas trip which Saleh conducted this month. Last week, he travelled to Doha for talks with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and other top officials of the country.
