Libyan Foreign Minister, Najla Elmangoush, and Iraqi Deputy Finance Minister, Taif Sami, have received the 2022 International Women of Courage award, according to the U.S. State Department.
“Congratulations Mabrook to Najla Elmangous, Libya’s first woman Foreign Minister, and Taif Sami Mohammed, Iraq’s Deputy Finance Minister – two of the 2022 International Women of Courage award recipients,” tweeted U.S. State Dept – Near Eastern Affairs.
The 2022 IWOC Award ceremony will honor a group of twelve extraordinary women from around the world who are working to build a brighter future for all, the statement pointed out.
The First Lady of the United States, Dr. Jill Biden, will deliver remarks in recognition of the courageous accomplishments of this year’s IWOC awardees, it added.
