Benghazi – In an official ceremony held today, First Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar was sworn in as the Deputy General Commander of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces. The ceremony took place in the presence of the General Commander, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, and a number of senior military and political officials in the country.
The inauguration ceremony was marked by the prominent attendance of state leaders. Foremost among the attendees were the National Security Advisor, Lieutenant General Abdulrazek Al-Nadouri, and the recently appointed Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, First Lieutenant General Khaled Haftar.
The ceremony was also attended by a high-level delegation from the legislative and executive authorities, including members of the House of Representatives and the Prime Minister of the Libyan Government, Osama Hammad.
On the social and tribal front, a number of sheikhs and dignitaries from Libyan tribes participated in the ceremony, offering their support and congratulations to the new leadership and emphasizing the cohesion between the social fabric and the military institution.
The list of attendees also included senior officers and commanders from various branches and staffs of the armed forces, who witnessed First Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar take the oath, pledging his loyalty and commitment to defending the nation.
This appointment is part of a series of decisions aimed at developing and modernizing the command structure of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces and strengthening its capabilities to face the challenges the country is experiencing.
