A news report by the English-language newspaper Malta Today has revealed the circumstances of an incident where a Libyan student stabbed his classmate inside St. Clare’s College in the city of Pembroke.
The report, which was followed up and its contents translated by Al Marsad newspaper, stated that a spokesperson for the Maltese police confirmed that a 14-year-old Libyan boy stabbed another of the same nationality and age, indicating that both have been living in Malta since they were 3 years old. He clarified that the perpetrator is being interrogated in the presence of his guardian.
The spokesperson noted that the victim was transported to Mater Dei Hospital after being stabbed in the schoolyard shortly before 8 a.m., pointing out that his health condition is stable.
According to the report, the Maltese Ministry of Education issued a statement clarifying that a fight broke out between two foreign students, during which one used a sharp object, resulting in the other being taken to the hospital.
