Libyan Foreign Minister Najla Mangoush met on Wednesday with her Italian counterpart Luigi Di Maio in Rome where they discussed “bilateral cooperation, political process and elections and cooperation with U.N. Special Advisor, Stephanie Williams,” according to a statement by the Italian foreign ministry.

For her part, Mangoush said she and the Italian top diplomat affirmed “our special-relationship as neighboring countries”.
“We are glad to have such a strong and supportive partner in our shared effort to prompt peace in Libya and the Mediterranean!,” she tweeted.
