Migrants held at Tripoli’s Ghout al-Shaal detention center managed to escape the facility yesterday due to inadequate security measures, according to an armed group affiliated with security forces in Janzour.
The so-called Janzour Joint Security Chamber also denied shooting migrants and claimed that all those apprehended are “in good health”. The chamber said in its coordinating with security forces in the capital to bring the migrants back to the detention center.
In early October, Libyan forces in Tripoli raided migrant shelters, which led to the killing of one migrant was killed and the injuring of at least 15 others.
