The ministerial committee in charge of studying and submitting a proposal for the general budget law held its first meeting Monday, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Khaled Al-Osta.
The committee worked on setting the main lines and features of the draft budget law in order to respond to the objectives of the Libyan new government’s program of rationalizing spending, alleviating the impact of inflation on citizens, and allocating financial resources to service sectors according to clear programs and goals.
The committee will hold other meetings in order to finalize the observations and recommendations of the ministries and sectors of the Libyan government, led by Fathi Bashagha, to finalize the draft general budget and refer it to the House of Representatives for discussion and approval.
