Tripoli – The Minister of Finance of the Government of National Unity, Khaled Al-Mabrouk, discussed with a delegation from the Canadian company (FreeBalance) the mechanisms for implementing the Government Financial Management Information System (GFMIS), during a meeting held in the capital, Tripoli, according to the “Our Government” platform on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the technical and administrative benefits of the new system, particularly regarding the reform of the public finance system, improving expenditure management efficiency, strengthening revenue control, and applying international standards in financial transparency and governance.
It was agreed to complete the necessary technical assessments in the coming period, in preparation for the system’s comprehensive implementation as part of the digital transformation plans led by the Ministry.
The GFMIS project is part of the digital transformation strategy launched by the Ministry of Finance, which also includes the Treasury Single Account system and the electronic payments and collection system. Collectively, these aim to modernize government financial operations and implement an integrated electronic financial system that enhances efficiency and transparency in public financial management.
