The National Development Agency inaugurated the Gulf of Sirte International Airport on Saturday, a step that embodies the state’s continued efforts to implement strategic projects as part of the comprehensive development path across various regions of Libya.
During the opening ceremony, Mahmoud Elforjani, the Director-General of the National Development Agency, emphasized the national symbolism of the city of Sirte, which has been liberated from the clutches of terrorism. At the same time, he praised the support of the Commander-in-Chief, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, and his deputy, General Saddam Haftar, for development and construction projects throughout the country.
Elforjani explained that the opening of the Gulf of Sirte International Airport is part of the General Command’s vision to achieve Libya Vision 2030 and to enhance infrastructure, which will positively impact economic growth, air traffic, and trade exchange.
The Director of the National Development Agency concluded his speech by stressing the need to continue and sustain the momentum of development in various Libyan cities and regions, contributing to the achievement of balanced development and a comprehensive national renaissance.
