Tripoli – Omar Al-Mukhtar University has achieved an academic milestone by topping the results of the Libyan Collegiate Programming Contest, which was hosted by the University of Tripoli with the participation of 52 teams from various Libyan universities. With this achievement, the university has qualified for the Regional Programming Contest.
The first team from Omar Al-Mukhtar University, composed of Musa Abubaker Musa Hamed, Rahaf Fathi Ali Mohammed, and Ibrahim Nuri Mohammed Ali, secured first place after successfully solving 12 out of 14 problems. They outperformed all other teams in both the number of problems solved and the speed of their solutions, being the first to complete eight problems, demonstrating exceptional skill.
The university’s second team, consisting of Ismail Agila Ismail Mahmoud, Ameen Faraj Mohammed Abdullah, and Mohammed Salem Omar Al-Menfi, placed fifteenth after successfully solving a good number of problems. Meanwhile, the third team, made up of Mohammed Abdullah Mohammed Hussein, Yousef Mohammed Younes Al-Aker, and Ayoub Ahmed Omar Ramadan, delivered a distinguished performance that reflects the advancing level of the university’s students in this field.
The participation of the three teams was under the supervision of coaches Abdelmonem Saad Fadlallah and Abdulrazaq Ibrahim Abdulrazaq, who oversaw the preparation and training stages and were instrumental in enhancing the students’ capabilities to compete in this national programming event.
This victory is a culmination of the ongoing efforts by Omar Al-Mukhtar University to strengthen its academic and scientific presence. It also marks a significant step towards representing Libya honorably in regional and international forums specializing in programming and information technology.
