A high-level delegation led by Prime Minister Osama Hammad visited the Ibn Sina Teaching Hospital in the city of Sirte on Saturday evening.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by the Director General of the Libyan Development and Reconstruction Fund, Engineer Balqasim Haftar, the Executive Director of the National Development Agency, Dr. Mahmud Elfurjani, and other officials.
Upon arrival, the officials were received by the hospital’s Director General, Dr. Ali Al-Jarushi, the Assistant Director, Dr. Jadallah Daryaq, the Mayor of Sirte, Mr. Mukhtar Al-Maadani, and several department heads and section chiefs.
In his remarks, Prime Minister Hammad emphasized the government’s commitment to providing the necessary support and development for the Ibn Sina Teaching Hospital. This, he said, would include ensuring the availability of modern medical capabilities and the recruitment of highly qualified foreign medical personnel to train the local staff and enhance the quality of services provided to the citizens of Sirte.
Engineer Balqasim Haftar further affirmed the fund’s dedication to the continuous development and modernization of medical facilities across Libya, in line with the latest design standards and the expansion of specialized departments.
The involvement of the National Development Agency in this high-profile visit underscores the government’s broader strategy of utilizing national institutions to drive the rehabilitation and revitalization of key infrastructure in the city, which has been a focal point of the Libyan authorities’ efforts.
