Report: Libya Telecom and Technology and ZTE Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Accelerate Digital Transformation

The report clarified the MOU was signed during the “Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2026.” This partnership aims to accelerate digital transformation and network development in Libya. ZTE is a leading international company providing integrated ICT solutions. The collaboration leverages ZTE’s expertise.

According to the report, this partnership aims to drive innovation. It will expand 4G and 5G network coverage. It also includes developing an integrated digital services system. Sustainability is a priority. This involves integrating energy-saving solutions. Green network technologies will also be used.

The MOU establishes a strategic partnership between the two parties. This will accelerate network infrastructure modernization. It will also support the growth of Libya’s digital economy. Both parties commit to cooperating in planning and deploying 4G and 5G networks. This will improve coverage, connectivity, and performance. These improvements will benefit all parts of the country.

The report noted the cooperation also extends to expanding digital services. This involves jointly developing and integrating innovative services. These services include e-wallet solutions. E-commerce platforms are also part of this. Content delivery networks are included. This will enhance user experience. It will also support terminal device operations.

This direction includes accelerating the provision and adoption of high-performance devices. These devices include fixed wireless access solutions. CPE and MiFi devices are also covered. The goal is to help bridge the digital divide. New business models will also be explored. This aims to drive strategic growth.

The report quoted Zhang Wanshun, Senior Vice President of ZTE. He stated ZTE is honored to strengthen its strategic cooperation with Libya Telecom and Technology. He added that combining the international company’s advanced technological innovations with the Libyan company’s strong market presence will accelerate digital development in Libya. Wanshun added that the MOU reflects a shared vision. This vision aims to bridge the digital divide. It also seeks to empower the local market. This empowerment will come through next-generation communication tools. Diverse digital services will also be provided.

Ammar Al-Bouzaidi, Chairman of Libya Telecom and Technology, also commented. He said the partnership with ZTE at the Barcelona conference is a significant milestone. This marks the ongoing cooperation between the two sides. He noted that integrating global 4G and 5G technologies is key. New digital business solutions will also be integrated. This will improve connectivity. It will also establish the foundations for a robust digital economy. Al-Bouzaidi added that the company is committed to delivering the best digital experience. This commitment is through the new business model.

The report indicated this cooperation marks a prominent stage in a long-term partnership. It leverages ZTE’s global expertise in advanced technologies.
