Russian Tatneft resumes oil exploration in Libya’s Ghadames Basin – NOC

The Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced that the Russian Tatneft petroleum refineries company had resumed its exploration activity in the blocks located in the Ghadames Basin area in western Libya.

NOC held Monday a technical meeting with officials of Tatneft, according to NOC.

The meeting, held at NOC headquarters in Tripoli, discussed the company’s exploratory activity during 2022 and the proposed technical works for the year 2023, NOC said in a statement.

The meeting also discussed lifting force majeure on the blocks granted to the company after transferring the rig 51 of the National Drilling Company to conduct the testing process for well D1-8214, the statement pointed out.
