Sebha – Sebha University celebrated World Pharmacists Day in close cooperation with the Fezzan Pharmacists Syndicate, under the slogan “A Pharmaceutical Vision for Society,” and with the support of a number of leading companies in this field.
The celebration was held last Thursday, in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mustafa Al-Saghir, faculty members, and a large crowd of male and female students from the Faculty of Pharmacy, emphasizing the importance of the occasion and the faculty’s pioneering role in the region.
The head of the organizing committee for World Pharmacists Day, Warda Al-Jarrah, affirmed that this day is not just a passing occasion, but a renewal of the professional pledge we carry, a pledge titled: “The Pharmacist is Your Partner in Health.” She explained that the mission of pharmacy is a profound and noble scientific message to serve society and humanity, stating, “We are not just distributors of medicine, but medication experts, and the essential link between scientific research in laboratories and clinical application on the ground.”
She also pointed out that modern pharmacy practice requires continuous development and renewal, and keeping pace with scientific research and the latest pharmaceutical innovations. She added that academic excellence is the first key, practical training is the foundation for honing skills, and that continuous learning will remain a pharmacist’s companion even after graduation, because the science of pharmacology evolves day by day.
For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy stressed that the pharmacy profession is not just a job, but a scientific and humanitarian mission that requires passion and commitment. He addressed the faculty’s students, saying: “Today, you begin a journey of acquiring the scientific foundations that require continuous development and keeping up with innovations. Excellence and practical training are the keys to success.”
