Member of the House of Representatives, Jaballah Al-Shibani, stressed the necessity of not dealing in any way with any person who does not possess official documents or has not legally entered the country. He explained in a post on his Facebook account that this measure directly helps to block attempts to settle illegal immigrants inside Libya.
Warning Against a “Dangerous Proposal”
Al-Shibani emphasized that his call comes in response to what he described as a “dangerous proposal” suggesting that Libya is vast and can accommodate immigrants. He considered that such proposals undermine security and sovereignty and open the door to unacceptable demographic changes.
Call for Strict Measures
Al-Shibani called for strict adherence to the laws regulating residency and work, and for not providing any services or transactions to anyone who cannot prove their legal status, considering this a part of protecting stability and the rule of law.
