Saleh assures his Greek counterpart of the need to remove foreign forces from Libya

Athens, Greece | The Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, Chancellor Aguila Saleh, stressed the need to remove foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya, and to hold presidential and parliamentary elections on time on December 24. This came during a meeting with the Speaker of the Greek Parliament, Konstantinos Tasoulas.

According to a statement by the Libyan House of Representatives on Friday, Tasoulas commended “the efforts of Chancellor Saleh seeking to hold the presidential and parliamentary elections in the country.”

Saleh for his part welcomed “Greece’s pivotal role in the Libyan crisis file,” stressing that its role towards Libya “cannot be dispensed with, especially since it has great importance in the European Union as well as at the level of the international community,” the statement added.
