Tripoli – Dr. Khaled Al-Taleb, head of the cardiac surgery department at Tripoli University Hospital, praised the role of the Authority for Support and Development of Therapeutic Services in conducting over 25 successful heart surgeries. Al-Taleb said the authority’s support helped localize these costly procedures within Libya. He noted that preparations are underway to perform new surgeries soon for patients from eastern, southern, and western regions who are on waiting lists.
In the past two days, Al-Hadba Al-Khadra General Hospital performed three successful cardiac catheterizations. The procedures were supervised by the Authority for Support and Development of Therapeutic Services in cooperation with the hospital’s medical and technical staff.
These surgeries are part of a broader plan by the authority to localize specialized medical treatments in Libyan health institutions. The goal is to reduce the burdens of travel on patients and improve the quality of care provided. The efforts reflect the authority’s commitment to supporting public health institutions and enabling them to deliver advanced services that meet the highest medical standards, ensuring patients receive timely care at home.
