Nearly 250 Syrian fighters, backed by Turkey, has left Libya to return to Syria on Thursday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported.
Some of the returnees, who were interviewed by the Syrian NGO, expressed their dissatisfaction with their life inside Libyan camps, which they say became a “routine” since the the Libya’s warring parties agreed to cease hostilities in Tripoli last two years ago.
The Syrian fighters said, since the Libyan ceasefire deal in 2020, they have been spending their ime in dormitories or in training grounds.
The returnees stated that did not receive a three-month worth of their salaries, which the Libyan government pays for them as per the latter’s deal with Ankara.
They have also complained by about the costs they spend on food and drinks which they say are deducted from their salaries.
