UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has said it received reports of clashes in Tripoli Friday night between armed groups, “which endangered the lives of civilians, and separately of mobilization of armed groups, along with heavy weapons, from areas surrounding Tripoli.”

UN Special Adviser on Libya, Stephanie Williams, said she met Wednesday in Tripoli with High Council of State (HCS) Head, Khaled El Mishri, to discuss plans for the upcoming, final round of the Joint HoR/HCS Committee talks due to begin in Cairo on June 12 “to establish the constitutional framework needed to take the country to comprehensive national elections as soon as possible.”

On her opening remarks for the second session of the joint committee of the Libyan House of Representatives and the High Council of State to determine the constitutional arrangements for elections, UN Special Adviser on Libya, Stephanie Williams, said that “Delays and an open-ended process will not work and will inevitably lead to further division and conflict from where it will be much harder to bring Libya back on the path to stability.”
